Making payments and transferring money should fit easily into everyday life. Whether you’re splitting a bill with a friend, paying someone back, or looking for a convenient way to fund an international money transfer, digital payment solutions can make the process simpler.
That is what Aani is built for. It is the UAE’s instant payment platform, and it enables eligible users to make digital payments quickly, without always needing to exchange lengthy bank account details.
But did you know that Aani is also available through the LuLu Money App? If you’ve heard about Aani but haven’t explored it yet, or didn’t know you could access it through LuLu Money, here’s what you need to know.
What is Aani?
Aani is the UAE’s national instant payment platform, operated by Al Etihad Payments, a subsidiary of the Central Bank of the UAE. It was introduced to make digital payments faster, simpler, and more accessible.
With Aani, registered users can send money within the UAE using their mobile number, rather than having to share bank account details or an IBAN for every transfer. Depending on the participating provider and available services, Aani also supports features such as QR code payments, request-to-pay prompts, and bill splitting.
Why is Aani Convenient?
Aani makes everyday digital payments easier in several ways:
- Fast: Send money to eligible recipients within seconds.
- Simple: Use a registered mobile number instead of manually entering bank account details for supported transfers.
- Available around the clock: Make eligible payments at any time, including weekends and public holidays.
- Convenient digital transactions: Access supported payment features through participating banks and payment providers.
For UAE residents who regularly make payments to friends, family, or other recipients within the country, Aani offers a convenient way to move money digitally.
Aani is Already Available on the LuLu Money App
You can use Aani in two ways:
- Sending money in the UAE: LuLu Money Card customers can send money using a recipient’s mobile number or IBAN. They can enrol and use the available Aani features directly through LuLu Money.
- Paying for an international transfer: Aani is a domestic platform, but you can choose it as the payment method to fund a transfer abroad. LuLu Money then sends your money to the destination you selected.
Before you start: To pay with Aani, you need to be registered on the Aani app with your mobile number.
